1. Purpose of This Document
This document sets out the identity verification requirements that apply to accounts held with Langley. It describes when verification is required, which documents are accepted, how submissions are reviewed, and the consequences if verification cannot be completed. This policy applies to all account holders accessing Langley from Canada.
Identity verification is a mandatory compliance function. It is not optional and cannot be waived. The company is required to confirm the identity of account holders under applicable anti-money laundering obligations and responsible gaming standards. These requirements apply regardless of individual account activity.
2. When Verification Is Required
Identity verification may be required at any of the following points:
Account opening. Verification may be initiated before an account becomes fully active or before any funds are disbursed.
Before processing a withdrawal. Funds will not be released from an unverified account. Verification must be completed and approved before a withdrawal request can proceed.
Following a change to account information. If a name, address, date of birth, or contact detail is updated, re-verification may be required before the account returns to full standing.
When automated checks are inconclusive. If the information provided during registration cannot be matched against available data sources, manual document submission will be required.
When transaction activity triggers a review. Under federal anti-money laundering guidance applicable in Canada, certain transaction types and thresholds require confirmation of the account holder’s identity. This includes, but is not limited to, large cash-equivalent transactions and circumstances where a suspicious transaction report obligation may arise.
At any point determined by the compliance team. The company reserves the right to request verification at any stage of the account relationship where there is a reasonable compliance or security basis for doing so.
3. Documents Accepted
Government-issued identification documents are required. Submissions must be current, legible, and unaltered. The following categories are accepted:
Government-issued photo identification. This includes a valid passport, provincial or territorial driver’s licence, or a government-issued identity card that includes a photograph, full legal name, and date of birth.
Proof of address. Where address verification is required separately, the platform accepts a recent utility bill, bank statement, or government correspondence issued within the preceding 90 days. The document must display the account holder’s full name and residential address.
Additional documentation. In specific circumstances, supplementary documents may be requested. These may include a second form of identification, a source-of-funds declaration, or documentation relating to a specific transaction. Where additional documents are required, this will be communicated directly to the account holder.
All documents must be submitted in their original form. Edited, cropped, or digitally altered images will not be accepted and may result in account suspension pending further review.
4. Biometric and Liveness Checks
Automated identity verification processes may include a facial comparison step. Where this applies, the account holder will be asked to submit a live image or short video alongside their identification document. This step is used to confirm that the person submitting the document is the same individual depicted on it.
Biometric data collected during this process is used solely for identity verification purposes. It is not used for marketing, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to account compliance. Retention and deletion of biometric data are governed by Langley’s Privacy Policy.
5. Submission Process
Documents should be submitted through the secure upload function available within the account area on Langley’s official domain. The service will not request identity documents by unsolicited email, text message, or third-party messaging application. Any request for documents received through an unofficial channel should be treated as suspicious and reported to Langley’s support team before any documents are sent.
When submitting documents, the account holder should ensure that all four corners of the document are visible, that the image is in focus, and that all text is legible. Images that do not meet these standards will be returned for resubmission, which will extend the overall review period.
6. Review Timelines
The platform aims to complete standard identity verification reviews within a reasonable period following receipt of a complete and legible submission. Where a submission is incomplete or requires manual escalation, the review period will be longer. The account holder will be notified of the outcome or of any additional requirements by the contact method registered to the account.
During the review period, certain account functions may be restricted. The functions affected will be indicated at the time verification is requested.
7. Consequences of Failed or Incomplete Verification
If an account holder does not complete verification within the period specified by the company, or if submitted documents cannot be accepted, the following may apply:
Withdrawal requests will remain on hold until verification is successfully completed.
Account access may be restricted or suspended.
In cases where verification cannot be completed and the account holds a balance, the standard account closure procedure will apply, which includes returning any eligible funds in accordance with applicable requirements.
Langley does not accept liability for delays or losses arising from an account holder’s failure to provide required documentation in a timely manner.
8. Data Handling
Information and documents submitted for identity verification are processed in accordance with Langley’s Privacy Policy. Documents are retained for the period required under applicable Canadian anti-money laundering legislation and are not shared with third parties except where required by law or by a regulatory authority with jurisdiction over Langley’s operations.
Account holders have the right to request information about how their personal data is held and processed. Such requests should be directed to Langley’s designated privacy contact as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Contact
Questions relating to identity verification requirements or the status of a pending review should be directed to Langley’s support team through the official contact channels listed on the Contact page of this site.
